Credentials: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Member of the American Counseling Association, Association for Humanistic Counseling, Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.

Areas of expertise: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT said as one word), Compassion Focused Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing, Substance Misuse, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), and Polyvagal Theory in Therapy.

Additional areas of interest: Shame, mindfulness, veterans, older adults, trauma, prostate cancer support, LGBTQ concerns, gender reassignment, first-generation students, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), and psychosis.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, four married children, eight grandchildren, two cats (Vanna White and Murphy Brown), cooking, choral singing, swimming, pursuing my doctorate, presenting papers and educational sessions at professional conferences, and conducting qualitative research in the field of counseling.
