I never imagined that I was going to become a pediatrician until i stubled into my pediatric rotation and I loved it! i loved the kids and I really liked working with young families. I have had the privilege of being able to work with young families for decades. It's been a very rewarding experience.

Kids are a lot of fun and as I went through different rotations in medical school, pediatrics was really the only one that I left everyday [feeling] really good about what I'd done...When you treat children, you're treating the future of this community and I feel able to make the biggest impact by taking care of kids when they're young and talking with their parents and really working on that family unit. "Kids are a lot of fun. I've never been to work without smiling and laughing and having a good time. They keep it pretty real, which is a good way to spend my day. It's nice to be part of this journey of raising their children, with families--even if it's just telling them they're doing a good job and telling them to keep plugging away and that it's worth it. I think that's part of what makes my job so rewarding. It's exciting!
