In 2004 while Mosaic Medical operated just one clinic in Prineville, Oregon, the need for prenatal services for expectant mothers was identified in Jefferson County. Mosaic Medical started a prenatal program for under-served patients based out of the local health department. Madras Medical Group, also identifying this need and their practice’s ability to participate in the solution, partnered with Mosaic Medical Prineville to deliver those babies cared for in the program.
When Mosaic Medical Madras opened in 2006, the partnership between Mosaic Medical’s prenatal care program and Madras Medical Group grew even stronger. Today, Dr. Martin Smart offers prenatal care to expectant mothers in Mosaic Medical’s Madras clinic, providing direct care and maintaining close communication with delivering physicians at Madras Medical Group, creating a seamless experience for our patients from parental care at Mosaic Medical Madras through delivery at Mountain View Hospital by a Madras Medical Group physician, and postpartum care at Mosaic Medical Madras. Since the birth of this partnership in 2004, hundreds of women have received access to first-trimester prenatal care. Many of these women would otherwise never had access to these services at such a critical time.
